The Biostatistics/Epidemiology/Research Design Key Function of the Institute for Clinical and Translational Science consists of two main cores: Biostatistics and Epidemiology. You are currently viewing the resource page for the Biostatistics Core. Visit the Epidemiology Core resource page.
If you like mathematics, statistics, or science and would like to explore how to apply quantitative methods to investigate important health issues, then the Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (SIBS) is ideal for you.
The objective of the Iowa Summer Institute in Biostatistics is to provide biostatistical training and applied research opportunities to undergraduates. Priority for admission and support will be given to underrepresented minorities and disadvantaged students from small liberal arts colleges without a substantial statistical curriculum. Undergraduate junior or senior students with math or biological sciences backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The ISIB will be 7 weeks: instruction will be through case based instruction of real biomedical research; computer laboratory training; projects, and clinical and translational research enrichment activities.
